Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Wage Clerk to join our Finance team in Pietermaritzburg. Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and timeously for wage earners on various group payrolls.

The main responsibilities of this position include:
  • Accurate and timeous checking of time and attendance for all employees by importing employee information from Unis to Web Register and updating relevant information as received from HR/IR department
  • Control of Group Web Register systems by creating profiles for all new users on web register, controlling timesheets and maintaining accuracy of employee hours
  • Ensuring all payroll documentation checked and captured on both time and payroll systems
  • Ensuring that all input documents are authorized in line with the levels of authority and company policy and accurately captured to the relevant screens on the payroll system
  • Accurate capturing of leave forms and sick notes into payroll
  • Verification checks on payroll input
  • Import the correct pay period hours from the web register to the payroll system
  • Distribution of payslips
  • Create, run and analyze month end financial reports in preparation for the capturing of payroll journals and provisions
  • Reconciliation of monthly balance sheet accounts
  • Filing and maintenance of personnel records
  • Assist with various ad hoc duties and payroll projects
  • Ensure accurate and timeous preparation of reports for Management as well as continuous and accurate communication with Group Payroll on all changes to times and any adjustments that might be required

Minimum requirements

  • Matric with relevant Accounting / Payroll qualification
  • Minimum 3 years’ payroll processing and payroll accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in month end financial reporting and reconciliation
  • In-depth knowledge of SAGE 300 PEOPLE/ VIP Premier and Time & Attendance systems
  • Fully computer literate with an advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experienced on the JDE E1 System
  • Must be able to work independently in a high pressure, deadline driven environment whilst maintaining accuracy & attention to detail

Introduction

We are looking an experienced Key Account Manager to join our Industrial Heavy-Duty (HD) department in Mahogany Ridge, KZN. As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for contributing towards strategies to grow the Industrial Heavy-Duty filtration and brake sales, managing sales and key accounts within the IAM Industrial & HD Filtration and brake channels, negotiate price increases to ensure the filtration business segment remains profitable and grow chemical sales within the HD dealer network and through HD distributors.

The main responsibilities of this position include:
  • Manage the existing network of direct supply HD filter distributors and filter specialists
  • Implement and negotiate customer specific price increases where required
  • Manage service level agreements with all customers and ensure excellent customer service
  • Investigate and review the existing network of customers in order to determine organic growth opportunities
  • Initiate brand activation programs to increase profitability through volume, gross profit and trading profit growth
  • Analyze customer buying history and investigate why customers are not in line with budget and present action plans to assist with ensuring that budget is achieved
  • Identify opportunities and grow industrial & heavy-duty filters with key filter specialists, heavy-duty distributors and fleets by proposing new distribution and end user partners within each sub sector of the industrial & HD market
  • Keep abreast of industry and market developments and competitors’ products to ensure that the filtration brands are constantly up to date with changes, trends and pricing
  • Conduct surveys as and when required to improve market knowledge and report results accordingly
  • Submit monthly forecasts and provide insight into each customer current stockholding and demand requirements
  • Participate in operational meetings when required that is critical to the division success such as profitability, product management, quality, and service reviews
  • Conduct regular sales product training presentations
  • Customer specific quotations and follow up on orders
  • Recognize potential new products & initiate paperwork for investigation
  • Raise and follow through NPI’s for the introduction of new SKU’s and raise ECR’s to assist in managing existing SKU’s.
  • Ensure all administrative reporting is captured, updated and maintained accurately and timeously
  • Distribute catalogues, brochures and POS material
  • Investigate and report to all claims against the company with regards to product and service related issues and report accordingly
  • Identify and represent company at exhibitions, trade shows and industry conferences
  • Support the Lubricants team in identifying opportunities for supply at HD distributor and fleet level

Minimum requirements

  • Matric plus relevant Sales / Marketing qualification
  • 5 years’ experience in a Sales / Key Account Manager role within the Automotive / Industrial Heavy-Duty filtration and brake market, including experience and involvement in all strategic matters
  • Computer literate on MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and CRM
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be Customer service focused with strong proven relationship building / management and networking ability
