Distell Job Description

Applications are invited for the above-mentioned temporary position in the Sales SA division based at Kimberley. This person will report to the Sales Manager.

Purpose of the position

To sell and promote Distell Brand portfolio to customers with a specific geographical area by creating brand awareness and building brands in line with strategic objectives

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive Market share: Driving RRSP
  • Power Pack Compliance:  Price driven promotions and Drive power pack compliance agreements with customers
  • Build partnerships with customers: Call strike rate and 4 A score compliance vs non-compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement business improvement initiatives and share and implement new ideas regarding sales and improving effectiveness of sales force
  • Take responsibility for own development and contribute to team effectiveness and Displaying the Distell values

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

  • Relevant Diploma
  • 2-3 years FMCG or relevant experience
  • Flexible 44 working hour week and Week end promotions/activities

Demonstrates proficiency in the following functional competencies:

  • Persuasive selling skills & negotiations – Ability to persuade customers to buy products or to increase sales and to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities
  • Sales Commercial Insights – Awareness and understanding of the implications of fundamental commercial implications on day-to-day decisions

  • Sales Product Knowledge – Product relevance by channel, cluster and tier understood and applied

Distell Job Description

Purpose of the Position:

Leading a production team and overseeing the smooth operation of machines & equipment and attainment of production plan.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

  • Reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Minimising losses and write-offs.
  • Improve OEE. (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
  • Limiting rework or non-conformance.
  • Ensuring the relevant process control is applied to produce a product which complies with quality specifications
  • Development and motivation of subordinates.
  • Managing administrative duties i.e. compile OEE sheets, declare Production Order variances, compile claims, etc.
  • Facilitate the Mini business operating principles, processes and practices as per E2 (A lean manufacturing programme)
  • Attending various meetings i.e. Level 2, Safety, Multilevel, Problem solving and Service level Agreements

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

  • Qualified Mechanical / Electrical artisan (Trade certificate)
  • NQF 5 Manufacturing management certificate or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Ability to develop a clear vision for subordinates and involving team members in creating a shared vision
  • Create conditions that ensure followers are willing, able and allowed to be productive, display initiative and perform job related activities.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a high-speed, high-tech packaging environment
  • Ability to effectively coach and develop subordinates.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Sound conflict handling skills
  • Ability to organise resources and effectively delegate tasks to subordinates
  • Ability to facilitate performance management.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate alternative courses of action and being aware of all criteria that has to be satisfied to address a problem.
  • Can set controls over arrangements, follow up and evaluate task execution.
  • Ability to display confidence. Through perseverance and resilience, can stay with a task and display the required energy to achieve objectives and outputs.
  • Knowledge of ISO and HACCP quality management systems
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Excel & Word) and SAP.
  • This is a Shift position and able to work overtime if and when required.
