Job Description:

As the Engineering Coordinator (Condition Monitoring Coordinator) you will be looking after 3 control rooms, you will assist the operation in generating value from the timely detection of incipient defects and to manage all control room activities and personnel on the mining complex. 

Some key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Operations: Knowledge of operational processes within scope of role
  • Commercial: Basic financial metrics, cost and value management & budgeting tools
  • Management: Risk management techniques and critical controls. Leadership tools for implementing a culture of purpose–led high performance and change
  • Compliance: Conduct site inspections to identify and escalate non-compliance
  • Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities

This role is at a C5 level reporting to the Senior Engineer Reliability.

Qualifications:

You will need the following:

  • Grade 12/N3 certificate
  • National Higher Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering or
  • Trade test certificate (electrical or Instrumentation or Fitting or Millwright or Diesel Mechanic) with minimum N4 qualification
  • Tribology qualification – advantageous
  • Condition monitoring qualification – advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years condition monitoring experience
  • Minimum 5 years in supervisory position
  • Minimum 3 years underground mining or processing plant experience
  • Previous CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) experience – advantageous

Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Advisor: Electronic QMS is responsible for the introduction and maintenance of the electronic Quality Management System in the Southern Africa Anglo American Laboratory network, including the AA sponsored Government, Universities, and other partnership labs.  This includes the management of electronic records for the entire laboratory network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the electronic Quality Management System is successfully implemented according to the relevant timelines.
  • Maintain the electronic Quality Management System.
  • Compile and update SOPs related to electronic Quality Management System and ensure that all laboratory staff are trained on the relevant SOPs.
  • Ensure all current master document including but not limited to manuals policies, SOPs, test methods, working instructions and forms are available and maintained in electronic management system in the QMS.
  • Maintain and ensure the register is up to date in the electronic management system.
  • Manage archiving of documents and record in the electronic management system.
  • Ensure that all laboratory staff is appropriately trained to use the electronic Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that the electronic Quality Management System is audit ready.
  • Participate in risk assessments and ensure mitigations are efficacious, where needed.
  • Participate in building a sustainable quality culture and proactively mitigate risks that may negatively impact quality or escalate these appropriately.
  • Ensure all documents are controlled timeously and loaded onto the electronic management system.
  • Support and assist the Southern Africa Anglo American Laboratories in external audits. Participate in and carry out internal audits as required.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant diploma or degree
  • Registration with HPCSA as a Biomedical Technologist is essential (The preferred HPCSA practice field is Clinical Pathology)

Job Description:

The purpose of the Quality Assurance Manager is to manage the technical and research aspects of the Anglo American Global labs network, including the AA sponsored Government, Universities, and other partnership labs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Implement SANAS accreditation plan and other regulatory requirements for AA Global lab network
  • Manage the technical quality related aspects of the AA Global lab network (including but not limited to technical and scientific support to the AA Global lab network; lead root cause investigations; assist with technical trouble shooting and laboratory assay data analysis).
  • Supports the Head of Health or delegated responsible manager in delivering on the COVID-19 Anglo American response plan ensuring health and safety is not compromised
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS) for the AA Global lab network.
  • Design and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for sample handling, preparation, equipment as well as processing, analyses and reporting to uphold the accuracy and reliability of reported information.
  • In collaboration with the Operations Manager of the Bio Medical Labs, ensure operational readiness for each lab and support work related to the desired operating model, including risk assessments and assurance/compliance work.
  • Ensuring that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Define, implement and monitor standards of performance and quality improvement of the medical laboratory service or services.
  • Report to laboratory management on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement.
  • Ensure that the test methods selected have the capability of providing quality results for patients.

Job Description:

The Corporate Affairs Principal will be responsible for supporting the effectiveness of the Executive Head by coordinating the execution of critical tasks and projects assigned to Corporate Affairs.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Participate in assigned projects to represent the function/ BU and consolidate CA projects and delivery strategies
  • Manage the PMC work plan and ensure that all relevant documents including presentations are completed timeously
  • Support the team in defining their priorities, critical tasks and delivery through proper implementation of monitoring and evaluation processes incl. definition of KPIs

Job Description:

The Programme Management Officer will support the Head of BI Projects in driving coordination of P101 initiatives, by performing the integrated Programme Management Office (PMO) function along with all required support activities for the P101 Programme across the Anglo American group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain Group P101 PMO processes, tools & systems to enable consistent delivery of initiatives.
  • Facilitate / lead the review of P101 initiatives at Business Unit (BU) and Site management reviews (including steering committees, other forums, etc.) to identify and assess delivery risks and mitigating actions / controls.
  • Assist BU and Site PMO resources to ensure they establish executable work plans and appropriate management routines in place to ensure delivery.
  • Undertake data analysis and consolidated performance reporting (including data processing, report design, routine and ad-hoc reporting) to develop key insights.
  • Develop presentations to communicate strategic insights for executives, relevant to programme direction and highlight recommendations based on data – particularly from P101 Dashboards & analytics.
  • Leverage P101 Dashboards, help support adoption & usage of dashboards across sites by reinforcing key concepts & referencing these where applicable.
  • Develop, recommend and implement enhancements through collaboration with internal & external sources to continuously improve processes, tools & systems
  • Rewrite the policies, processes and systems which apply to your work and operate within these requirements.
  • Identify any issues around these that interfere with your ability to complete work or meet the plan.
  • Escalate issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutions.
Qualifications:

Required: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant Technical, Business or Commercial discipline.

Desirable: Qualifications in Project / Programme Management OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.

Technical Knowledge:

As a Senior Plant Metallurgist you will provide assistance to the Ore Processing Engineer and the Section Manager in the provision of Metallurgical Quality Control & Assurance for various sections of the Venetia Mine Treatment Plant and providing Technical Support to the Production Teams. This includes assistance in initiating continuous improvement projects aimed at meeting production budgets and ensuring plant readiness for LOM treatment profile.

As a Senior Plant Metallurgist your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assist in ensuring that legal, safety, environmental and hygiene standards are complied with and maintained within the area of responsibility
  • Assist in ensuring that all work is planned, scheduled, executed and monitored in accordance with short- and long-term Ore Processing objectives, technical standards and procedures, and statutory requirements
  • Identification of improvement opportunities, business case development, Scoping and execution of approved improvement projects.
  • Analyse relevant processing data for the allocated portion of the plant and in own area of responsibility, reporting and investigating barriers to effective quality performance, causes of delays and deviations, and assist in ensuring mitigating plans are prepared and implemented
  • Stakeholder management: liaison with maintenance, operational & support function personnel to implement plant optimisation projects
  • Supports Production Teams to achieve the target for tonnes treated within their section of responsibility
  • Supports Production Teams to achieve target for carats recovered.
  • Assist in Managing all plant governance requirements – technical, operational and quality standards audits; and ensures compliance within their section of responsibility
  • Assist to ensure a stable and sustainable plant performance within their section of responsibility
  • Updating of all relevant process documentation for the Treatment Plant

This role is in the Ore Processing Department at Band 7 reporting  to the Section Manager:  Technical Services.

Qualifications:

Formal qualifications:

  • Matric or NQF4 equivelant
  • BSc Engineering or B-Tech (Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy)

Your experience will include:

  • Minimum 2 years post qualification experience in a processing plant
  • LIMN modelling experience will be an advantage
  • Power Bi report building
  • Medical Fitness Certificate will be required

Venetia Mine is South Africa’s most valuable diamond mine. As we develop the mine underground, it is also one of the largest infrastructure projects in the country. Venetia Underground Project (VUP) is a complexed underground mechanised development, shaft and mine construction project to deliver an operational Sub Level Cave mine operation.  Experienced and effective management and control of the project works and mining operations through major contractors (EPC, Mining Contractor) and owner functions is essential for Safe, timely and effective delivery of the project.

As a Senior Engineering Clerk you are required to provide an effective administration function to the Planning Section of the Engineering Department for VOP.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating during the Teams meetings each morning and provide input to Safety, Health, Environment, Production and Quality.
  • Capturing repair orders, repair history and warranty information for rotatable equipment components
  • Capturing work orders feedback accurately, including hours of all people who worked on the job, defects found, defect causes, meter readings, service entries, etc.
  • Follow up with Foremen, Artisans, etc. where job cards are not returned or are incomplete.
  • Participating in meetings and take minutes of meetings within the section.
  • Notifying the Systems Administrator of changes to master data that can only be updated by the Systems Administrator.
  • Assisting with any other clerical work, systems or reports approved by the Superintendent Asset Planning.
  • Providing feedback to the planner and FLM of any important information captured on a job card by the person doing the execution of work.
  • Final Confirmation of completed Job Cards on the SAP System.
Qualifications:

Qualification required:

  • Grade 12/Std10/N3 or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification with maths or numeracy
  • Preferred NQF4 qualification in Office Administration or Secretarial

Experience required:

  • 1 Year plus office administration experience in a mining environment

Additional requirements:

  • Computer literacy, including Excel, Word ad PowerPoint
  • Typing 15 words per minute
  • Planning, organizing and coordination skills
  • Teamwork, sound interpersonal skill and good work ethics
  • Good command of English and communication skills
  • SAP PM experience would be advantageous.
  • Completed the in-house Senior Planning Clerk development program, will be an advantage
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground
