Responsibilities

With our Consumer at the heart, your key focus will be to:
  • Build a strong understanding of target consumer groups and purchasers in our region by leveraging a mix of personal connection on ground, insights, trends, and data.
  • Actively engage and build a network linked to our brand passion points and opinion leaders across MEA.
  • Lead execution of the brands “Jobs to be Done” in the Middle East North Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa markets and participate in activity ideation & development in the annual Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) process.
  • Leads development of consumer-facing elements of IAP (ATL Content, Digital, PR Campaigns) in MEA region, and oversees development of shopper-facing activities by Customer Marketing in MEA.
  • Actively supports markets in the building of country brand plans linked to the regional brand strategy and IAP.
  • Identify growth opportunities (liquid and beyond) and recommend strategies and activities to drive share gains in the market.
  • Measure, evaluate and report back on activities to identify & codify brand growth drivers through our proprietary evaluation tools.
  • Drive commitment to recommended plans by aligning key market, region, and global stakeholders
  • Spearhead integration of consumer touchpoints & setting of KPI’s across advertising, media, PR, digital and other consumer facing programs
  • Contribute to the design / production of brand assets as defined in the IAP with the CPA team and influences commercial stakeholders in execution of the consumer programs
  • Deliver performance targets on brand activities, as set out in the annual M&E plan
  • Accountable for delivery of MEA performance targets in region (revenue, profitability, share, equity
  • Orchestrates effective collaboration through the organizational matrix and shares accountability for the category P & L with Area Mangers in MENA and SUBSA.
  • Leads brand A&P budget for the markets to maximize return on investment and monitor key markets P&L
  • Identify and lead innovation projects with key markets

Skills and Experience

The Skills & Experience needed to create your legacy
  • 7 – 10 years of experience working on influencer brands in FMCG, Entertainment and Lifestyle.
  • Commercial experience or mindset; with a strong willingness to co-own the markets growth ambitions.
  • Excellent project management skills with a willingness to build networks and relationships in culture across our core markets.
  • Results driven in a matrix organization with a can-do problem solver mentality.
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer marketing fundamentals e.g., consumer insights; brand fundamentals; brief writing; brand health etc.
  • Experience in multiple specialty areas: digital, innovation, promotions, events, media, shopper etc.
  • Strong verbal, presentation & written skills.  Confidence to influence at all levels in an organization.
  • Spirits industry, channel approach knowledge

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the South Africa commercial team as Customer Marketing Manager. Your principal role will be to help create legacy for the brands and contribute to key decisions that will significantly impact our brand presence and positioning in the market. You will be based in Johannesburg a large percentage of your time will be spent interacting customers and trade partners. As a result, you can expect to be travelling extensively to stay connected to all stakeholders. The role reports into Head of Customer Marketing SA.

As the Customer Marketing Manager, you will be accountable for embedding within the market and channel, world class Customer Management that drives net revenue per case and value share. Your ability to communicate clearly will be instrumental for you to work collaboratively across stakeholders. You will fearlessly chart the picture of success for South Africa, with a founders mentality of owning execution of all brands and demonstrate highest epitome of leadership behaviours of a family member on transparency and teamwork.

Responsibilities

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:
  • You will deliver the market’s Integrated Activity Planning (IAP) process thereby ensuring that the broader commercial team receives high quality customer programs, materials & assets to deliver on maximum ROI.
  • You will lead and inspire the local Bacardi team both internally and externally to be thorough and meticulous in planning and to execute with excellence at the point of purchase in relevant channel.
  • Work cross-functionally in the development of Joint Business Plans, category, and channel plans with key customers in retail channels with the relevant Key Account Managers.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure a flawless and timely implementation of programs in the market, delivering exceptional execution for high profile market events of scale, within the remit of relevant global brand strategies.
  • Lead and infuse creativity in the local Bacardi team, distributor teams, advertising agencies and other stakeholders to develop activations at the point of purchase that will give our portfolio a distinct competitive advantage over competition. Within the remit of global brand strategies.
  • Measure & Evaluate the performance of activities that are implemented directly or via partners with the wrap-up of each, and report results monthly and quarterly.
  • Manage and track the A&P budget assigned for projects while negotiating the best procurement deals and tracking the spending efficiently.
  • Proactively seek opportunities across channels that will engage consumers within the relevant environment.

Skills and Experience

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Sales or Marketing specialisation from recognised institution.
  • 3 to 5 years sales/marketing experience in FMCG or Alcohol and Beverage industry.
  • Experience activating brands through digital campaigns and PR programs
  • Completion of the 5 Family Modules on eConsultancy is a requirement for internal applicants from within Bacardi
  • Medium to high proficiency in MS Office in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Clear understanding of P&L and Value Chain and the effect on performance.
  • Ability to influence strategically both commercially with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English
  • Capable of planning, leading, and executing multiple large-scale campaigns and programmes from start to finish. Able to report, analyse, measure the efficiency of your strategy in the market.
