Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager The role is to develop marketing strategies to support the AF Group business / marketing vision. Relevant BU strategies to enable the business to realise its objectives. Oversee and align all marketing and communication to the target market and customers in order to create brand preference, drive purchasing behaviour, client experience and achieve high retention rates, including targeted direct communication and mass-media marketing. Key marketing representative to all internal and external stakeholders, responsible for effective representation of the marketing function within the business, as well as the delivery of BU marketing strategy and execution of all relevant plans. Input into annual marketing strategies and budgets. Responsible for the financial control of the marketing BU project spend. This role influences the market perception of the AF brand (reputational risk), through oversight of all the marketing initiatives across all channels – advertising, digital and social marketing, SEO, website, print collateral, events and exhibitions to name a few. An understanding of digital marketing and channels is required, with experience in managing digital /web/ social campaigns.

Minimum requirements

Education and Experience 
  • University Degree or similar specializing in Communication, Marketing or Business Administration
  • 5-10 years’ experience in marketing or communication with 5 years’ experience in financial services or insurance at a mid-senior level
Key performance areas 
Marketing and strategic communications to attract new customers 
  • Define marketing requirements and positioning per customer value proposition, to create brand awareness and consideration, and to drive prospective customers to Alexander Forbes distribution channels
  • Develop marketing plans, communications, and public relations plan
  • Align proposed marketing activities and to brief requirements
  • Oversee the development and delivery of marketing campaigns
Marketing and communication to existing customers
  • Establish processes and procedures to align and integrate all communication to AF clients
  • Elicit communication requirements from all areas and develop a program and plan for aligned, integrated communications, including personalised direct communications and marketing campaigns exploiting data analytics
  • Develop a well-rounded communication strategy that ensures delivery of client content in the most effective manner
  • Develop communication and direct marketing campaigns
  • Oversee execution of campaigns
Monitor and track the impact of Marketing and Communications
  • Set goals with measurements
  • Monitor progress and results
  • Report on impact and effectiveness
Planning, budgeting, and financial management 
  • Provide input to the multi-year and annual strategy, objectives, plan and budget for the relevant BU area
  • Manages campaign and project spend
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and mandates, laws and regulations
Leadership and people management
  • Ensure support individual goals are defined and measurable, and that they are aligned to the divisional goals
  • Manage, support, inform, mentor, motivate and develop the support team
  • Assess employee performance and provide input into the reward review process
